Mexican National Junior Championship

The Mexican National  Junior Championship was held May 2 - 4, 2010  at the El Tigre Golf Course in Nueva Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  Over 260 entrants in seven age divisions, both boys and girls, competed in the event conducted by the Mexican National Golf Federation. 

Four Hank Haney IJGA students  played  in the event ~ Miguel Solorzano, Ramon Riva , Alonso Orozco and Renato Bordes.  Miguel tied for third in the 16-18 year old division with rounds of 70-70-74.  Alonso shot 75-72-75 to claim a tie for twelth. In the 14-15 year old division Renato placed 6^th with 78-73-73.  Ramon shot 86-76 ( Rule # 1 "Don't Quit") to miss the cut in the older boys division by 2 shots.

The weather and the golf course were superb every day. The four boys attending did an outstanding job of representing Hank Haney IJGA and themselves.  We are very proud of them!

Former Hank Haney IJGA student, Juan Carlos Benitez,  won the championship  with  rounds of  67-70-70. Congratulations Juan Carlos!
