Josh Nahm, Lead Instructor for Hank Haney IJGA, has an extensive background coaching junior golfers and many of his students have gone on to play at some of the top colleges and university in the country.

How long have you been with Hank Haney IJGA?

I have been a golf instruction with Hank Haney IJGA for over four years.

What do you enjoy most about working with the students at Hank Haney IJGA?

More than just watching their improvement, I enjoy the relationships that I make with students.  Every student has a story and they all come from different places with different backgrounds.

What is your favorite moment as a golf instructor?

I enjoy watching my students succeed. When a student comes off of the course after a great round,  their expression of absolute joy and happiness is priceless.

You have had the opportunity to work with several female students who have been awarded college scholarships such as Stephanie Meadow (University of Alabama), Stephanie Eybers (St. John's University), and Kelly Miller (Daytona State College). What attributes do these players possess that have made them so successful?

All three have different personalities but they all work very hard.  Each one started out at a different ability level when I started working with them but they all wanted to get better and worked harder then their competition.

What advice do you have for an aspiring junior golf who wants to play at the collegiate level?

  1. Make sure that you are getting proper golf instruction.
  2. Never let anybody tell you that you can't do it. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself!
  3. Most importantly, work hard and never quit! The only thing in this game that you can control is the effort you put in.  Never walk off the course and know that you lost because somebody worked harder than you did.
