Two Former Hank Haney IJGA Students Facing Off in U.S. Amateur

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA – Two former Hank Haney IJGA students, Richy Werenski and Morgan Hoffmann, are1269a4adb21a3fa9479f8aaf3833d99c.jpg currently facing off in the round of 32 at the 2010 U.S. Amateur.  In the first two days of stroke play, Hoffman , a native of Wyckoff, NJ, fired rounds of 73 and 71 to finish with a total score of 144 (1 over par). Werenski, hailing from South Hadley, MA, was tied for 3rd after the first day of stroke play with a opening round of 68 and followed up with a 78 (total of 147, 4 over par) to make the cut for match play.  

c4f3824bdc34a96d1a155c950651ca8c.jpgIn the round of 64 of match play, Werenski defeated Gunner Wiebe (Denver, CO) 2 and 1 to advance to the round of 32. Hoffmann knocked off Albin Choi 2 up. With the design of the bracket, Werenski and Hoffmann faced off in the second round of match play today. Hoffmann is 3 up through 9 holes. To follow live scoring, click on the link below:

Werenski is a freshman at Georgia Tech and Hoffmann is a junior at Oklahoma State. Werenski graduated from Hank Haney IJGA in December 2009 and Hoffman finished in May 2008.
