LUTZ, FL - This week the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) returned to TPC Tampa Bay for another exciting event. Home to the 2010 Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am, a prestigious Champions Tour event, the TPC Tampa Bay course hosted more than 80 of the area's best junior golfers all looking to take home the ultimate prize. With hospitality tents and grandstands for the upcoming Champions Tour event in place, the strong field of IJGT competitors was exposed to a professional setting that added another dimension to the tournament.
In the Boys 16-19 Division, Hank Haney IJGA student Miguel Solorzano Amaya of Chiapas Mexico, current student at the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy (HHIJGA), came out firing early and never looked back. Hank Haney IJGA student Skyler Mednick of Calabasas, CA, finished in a tie for third place with a round of 76.
Never short for words, the exuberant Solorzano Amaya discussed his tournament. 'It feels great to get this win especially against this caliber of competition. 'I felt prepared going into the tournament and that helped me execute my game.'
