DOHA, QATAR – Matthew Moucharafieh, a student at Hank Haney International
Junior Golf Academy (Hank Haney IJGA) in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina,
just recently competed in the 2010 Qatar Pro-Am at the Championship Course of
Doha Golf Club. For the second straight year, Moucharafieh, a native of
Lebanon, was paired up with PGA Tour veteran Retief Goosen of South Africa. As
defending champions of the 2009 Qatar Pro-Am, Moucharafieh and his team of two
others were invited to compete in the event again alongside Goosen. While
Moucharafieh and his team did not walk away with the victory in 2010, he was
excited about the opportunity to play with Goosen and the improvements in his
golf game.
“I thoroughly enjoyed
playing with Retief again this year. He was impressed with the changes and
improvements in my swing. It was inspiring to have Retief notice the
development in my game over the past year. We have developed a close
relationship over the past few years and I look forward to following in his
footsteps,” stated Moucharafieh.
Moucharafieh enrolled at
Hank Haney IJGA in the fall of 2009 as a full-time student. While recovering
from a minor injury in the beginning part of the semester, Moucharafieh took
the opportunity to concentrate on his short game since his full swing was
hindered by the injury. He has a full schedule this spring with academics, golf
training, and tournament, all taking place at Hank Haney IJGA.
