KIAWAH ISLAND, SC - Home to five championship golf courses, Kiawah Island Golf Resort was the site of this week’s International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) event.  Located outside of Charleston, South Carolina, Kiawah Island Golf Resort consistently rates as the number one golf resort destination in the U.S. The tournament was a three day, 54-hole event. Turtle Point, host of the first and second round, is ranked as a top 50 public courses in the U.S., while the famed Ocean Course, along with its numerous awards, has been host to many professional golf events, most notably the 1991 Ryder Cup, 2007 Senior PGA Championship, and the future 2012 PGA Championship.  The weather for the 54-hole event stayed true to form for this time of year, with cold ocean winds laying claim to many a junior golfer’s game.

Adding to his championship victory total in the Boys 13-15 Division this weekend, Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy (Hank Haney IJGA) student Luke Park of Monument, Colorado captured another win by posting a final round of 82, adding to his previous two rounds of 80 and 73.  Park’s three-day total of 235 was just enough as fellow Hank Haney IJGA student Renato Bordes of Xalapa, Mexico ended the tournament one shot back of Park, posting a tournament total of 236.

This weekend, the IJGT will visit Duke University on the east coast and Papago Golf Course on the west coast. To sign up, visit www.IJGT.com
