Coach of the World's #1 Player to Teach in California...

We are pleased to announce that a second campus for Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy will open in August 2008 at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, south of San Luis Obispo, California.

The Academy on the central California coast is now accepting students for the fall 2008 semester. Contact Ms. Ryley Webb at ryley@ijga.com or Ms. Kailey Brooks at kailey@ijga.com for more information or call toll-free 800-216-0759.

Hank Haney IJGA provides training, academics and competition for junior golfers interested in achieving their full potential as student-athletes. Founded in 1995, the organization’s current enrollment includes students from 22 states and 22 countries. Approximately 90 percent of students have received college golf scholarships.

Hank Haney is the coach of the world’s number one golfer, Tiger Woods. Haney’s only other coaching commitment is to the students of Hank Haney IJGA. He currently instructs at the Hilton Head, S.C. campus and will teach at the academy’s new West Coast academy starting this August.

“I have truly enjoyed working with these kids. It is an inspiration to me as a teacher to see the dedication these students have to improving their game.” said Haney. “We currently attract top junior golfers from 23 counties around the world. I am excited about adding a West Coast academy which will open up more opportunities for junior golfers in that region of the United States as well as Asia, Western Canada, Mexico and South America.”

Golf, Academics & Competition

Cypress Ridge Golf Course is located on California's spectacular Central Coast. This Peter Jacobsen Signature Course is as challenging as it is beautiful. The Jacobsen Hardy Design Team utilized the natural surroundings of the area to make this central coast golf course truly unique. The region enjoys a great climate year round. Nearby are mountains, lakes and miles of scenic beaches.

Students will have an exclusive practice facility at Cypress Ridge, complete with indoor video areas and indoor hitting bays.

Students will live in four or five bedroom luxury homes located at Cypress Ridge with a house parent providing 24-hour adult supervision. As in Hilton Head, students will participate in a structured academic program that gives them the flexibility to also train with Hank Haney IJGA golf instructors.

The golf staff will be personally selected and trained by Haney. He will also work individually with each student over the course of the year.

Hank Haney IJGA is affiliated with the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT), which hosts 61 junior golf tournaments in the U.S. throughout the school year. The IJGT currently conducts 16 tournaments on the West Coast. With the new academy in California, additional events are planned to accommodate the competitive requirements of Hank Haney IJGA West students.
