In conjunction with Heritage Academy, this program is designed for students who wish to participate in a strictly English as a Second Language academic program while attending Hank Haney IJGA. This program is available for students in grades 5th-12th and post graduates as well.

OVERVIEW

  • The English Language Academy (ELA) provides intensive English curriculum for international students ages 11 and up who need to improve English proficiency.
  • ELA will take place at the Heritage Academy campus in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
  • ELA students will receive three blocks of instruction daily from 12:30-5:30PM, Monday-Friday, for 18 weeks per semester.

PROGRAM

  • ELA consists of 25 non-credit hours of instruction per week. Class size will not exceed 15 students per teacher.
  • Participants will receive TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) preparation as part of the required curriculum.
  • A "Certificate of Completion" will be issued upon successful completion of the program determined by TOEFL and program assessment scores.
  • Instruction will be provided by a certified ESL instructor.

Application Process

  • Students will be required to complete the Heritage Academy application process and submit full payment based on the current Heritage Academy tuition schedule.
  • Full-time status and total payment for school, room and board is required for students who need a Form I-20 for a student F-1 visa.
