Applications are now being accepted for the Hank Haney IJGA full-academic year program, which runs from mid-August through the end of May. If you are interested in becoming a student at the Hank Haney IJGA, we strongly recommend you apply online as soon as possible as space is very limited.

TRAINING

  • Hank Haney, coach of the #1 player in the world, serves as Director of Instruction.
  • Only golf academy to have 2 PGA National Teachers of the Year on staff.
  • Student to teacher ratio is 5 to 1, allowing for every student to receive personal golf instruction to reach their fullest potential as a junior golfer.
  • Students receive daily instruction in full swing, short game, course management, mental training, and physical training.
  • Students will train at Pinecrest Golf Club on a newly designed practice facility, including a new 15,000 sq. ft. putting green, an improved short-game area, and a larger practice range.
  • Full-Time students work with our Director of College Placement to develop a tournament schedule and resume, ultimately to receive a college golf scholarship.

ACADEMICS

  • Heritage Academy (grades 5th-12th) is the academic partner of the Hank Haney IJGA and located on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
  • Students are allowed to follow their passion for golf without interrupting an intense practice and tournament schedule.
  • In 2009, 100% of students who applied for college were accepted. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian from the Class of 2009 went to Princeton University and Dartmouth University, respectively.
  • Heritage Academy offers I-20 authorizations and provides many special programs including College Preparatory courses and English as a Second Language (ESL) for foreign students.

COMPETITION

  • Students at the Hank Haney IJGA regularly compete on the weekends throughout the school year in nationally ranked events on the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT).
  • The IJGT is the only junior golf tour that runs every weekend through the academic year, with over 70 tournaments annually.
  • Students at the Hank Haney IJGA compete in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and other prestigious junior and amateur events held in the United States and internationally. Current LPGA golfer In-Kyung Kim won the U.S. Junior Girl’s Championship while attending the Hank Haney IJGA.

A DAY AT HANK HANEY IJGA

  • Students begin their day with breakfast in housing with their Residential Instructor.
  • Hank Haney IJGA offers a split school schedule to help maintain a small teacher to student ratio in both golf and academics.
  • Morning Schedule students begin their day with college preparatory academics at the Heritage Academy followed by lunch and their golf training. The Afternoon Schedule students begin with golf training in the morning, a short break for lunch, then academics at Heritage Academy in the afternoon.
  • Students eat dinner in their housing units and then attend physical training as well as mandatory study sessions to finish up the day.
