IJGA alumna, Shanshan Feng recorded her fourth LPGA victory with a score of 18-under-par 266 at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia. Feng trailed going into the final round, but was able to overcome the deficit by firing a bogey-free 8-under-par 63 during the final round. The victory has moved Feng up to No. 5 in the Rolex Rankings and No. 8 in the Race to the CME Globe, which is the year long points standings on the LPGA where the eventual winner will earn the largest prize in women’s golf.
Feng came from mainland China to the IJGA to seek more competition and to prepare herself for LPGA Qualifying school. In her time at IJGA, Feng was able to win four International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) titles and practice diligently in preparation for her professional career. After her training at IJGA, Feng qualified for the LPGA in her first attempt. Since turning professional in 2008, Feng has amassed over 5 million dollars in career earnings and has also one Major Championship.
