Current IJGA student, Kelly Whaley of Farmington, Conn., finished in a tie for second place at the Faldo Series Grand Final at The Greenbrier. The 54-hole event was contested on the par-70 TPC Old White which hosts the annual PGA Tour event at The Greenbrier. Whaley recorded a tournament total of 220 including scores of 69-80-70.
Whaley got off to a hot start in the first round taking a share of the lead in the Girls Division with a 1-under-par 69. Her round included five birdies. The second round was not Whaley’s best effort, however she quickly rebounded in the final round with a even-par 70 to climb up the leaderboard. Whaley ended up three shots behind defending Faldo Series Grand Final champion Megan Khang.
