Hank Haney IJGA Students Have Something in Common With Tiger Woods
At the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy, students are privy to the most exclusive golf instruction in the world. Hank Haney is the coach of the world’s number one golfer, Tiger Woods. Haney’s only other coaching commitment is to the students of Hank Haney IJGA.

As the Director of Instruction at the Hank Haney IJGA, Haney provides students with the unparalleled golf instruction and expertise that has made him the industry’s premier golf instructor.

Hank has also trained and certified all of the instructors.

Lights, Camera, Action
Talk about performing under pressure. Students at Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy were in the spotlight for four months as the Golf Channel filmed on campus for their upcoming original series featuring the Hank Haney IJGA. Scheduled to air beginning September 2,  the School of Golf is a real-life series that will showcase how Haney and his team make huge improvements in the technical and mental aspects of the students’ games.

The Academy granted show producers complete access to reveal life’s ups and downs faced by teenagers from all over the world who have chosen to live at the academy to pursue their dreams.

Chinese Junior Golfers Excel at Hank Haney IJGA
In 2007, Shanshan Feng became the first student-athlete from China to attend the Hank Haney IJGA. After one year of training at the Hilton Head, S.C. campus, Feng competed at the 2007 LPGA Final Qualifying School finishing tied for ninth place and earning her exempt status on the 2008 LPGA Tour. She is the first woman from China to earn such status on the LPGA.

Following in the footsteps of Feng and hailing from the same town of Guanzhou in China, 13-year old Xin Wang (who goes by “Amy”), has also come to the Hank Haney IJGA to pursue her dream of one day playing on the LPGA Tour. Wang admits that her decision to come to the U.S. to train at the Academy was influenced by Feng’s success. Wang, who arrived in January of 2008 with raw talent and a 4 handicap, has already improved her game posting two wins on the IJGT in February alone.

Making a Difference
Hilton Head Island in South Carolina has been synonymous with golf for nearly 40 years. In 1969, Charles Fraser, the visionary master planner who made Hilton Head what it is today, teamed up with the PGA that year to unveil the Heritage Classic, now in its 39th year and played at the Harbour Town Golf Links.

There are some 50 golf courses in the region, and the very island, which has become a mecca for amateur and professional golfers alike, is rapidly gaining a reputation as the place to be for junior golfers.

The island is home to Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy, the only organization in the world that provides training, academics and competition for serious junior golfers.

Founded in 1995, this organization has positively impacted the lives of thousands of junior golfers.

Making Lifelong Friends from Around the World
The nearly 150 students at this school are dedicated and passionate about what they do. These students come from 23 countries and 22 U.S. states. Some eight languages are spoken here. Many students, when they first arrive, don’t speak a word of English. But these students all share something in common; their desire to become champions, their focused thinking and their positive outlook on life. And after all, great golf doesn’t need translation.

Not only do these students improve their golf game along with academics, they make lifelong friends from around the world.

Hank Haney IJGA Students in Prime Condition
At the Hank Haney IJGA, junior golfers have access to the same services that are available to professionals through personalized mental training and golf-specific fitness programs. Years ago, these services were not available to most junior golfers. Today, juniors are playing at a higher level than ever before posting lower scores, hitting the ball farther, and competing in prime mental and physical condition.

Keith Kleven, who works with the world's number one golfer, directs our fitness program. He has trained our staff of trainers and incorporated many of the same components used by the world's best player in designing our fitness propram.

From injury prevention to building strength to target the weakest parts of their individual games, Academy students are gaining a competitive edge in the junior golf world.
