Former International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) student and IJGT player, Laura Restrepo, added another top ten finish to her collegiate resume after tying for sixth at the Hoosier Fall Invitational, hosted by Indiana University in Greenwood, Ind. on Oct 19-20. The University of Louisville sophomore led her team, shooting an overall 73-73-71–217 through three rounds.
The recently crowned American Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month - after winning two straight tournaments during the month of September – opened up the event with a slow start, but was able to quickly overcome this during Round 1′s back nine. She carded two birdies on Nos. 10 and 17, and finished the last nine holes with a 1-under-par 35. She followed this up with consistent play during the second round, tallying two stretches of four straight pars, as well as two birdies, to finish the day at 2-over-par 73. Restrepo saved her best performance for the final round. Firing three birdies on the first six holes, Restrepo marked a 1-under-par front nine, and added two more birdies to finish the day at even-par 71.
While with the IJGA, Restrepo competed in approximately 20 IJGT Events over two seasons, winning six and finishing in the top five in every event played during her 2011-2012 season. You can follow Restrepo and the Cardinals in action at the upcoming Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 27-29.
