The International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) is extremely proud to announce that current student and IJGT member, Jana Wuensch, has been featured in the Sports Illustrated segment, “Faces in the Crowd.”
Wuensch, who hails from Herrenberg, Germany, has taken the amateur golf world and IJGT circuit by storm this year, appearing in and winning all three events in which she has appeared thus far.
Wuensch has averaged a score of 73.0 in the six rounds of golf she has played, including a tournament low of 71 in the first round of the IJGT Georgia Junior at Sea Island, as well as a personal-best 69 during the final round of the Lowcountry Open at Oldfield. She also shot a 69-74–143 to grab a win at the IJGT Junior at Hilton Head National, a final score that was the 3rd highest of all three divisions.
Wuensch, who is featured in SI’s Sept. 30, 2013 issue, has won three straight IJGT events.
Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd is published weekly online at SI.com, and appears in the magazine’s monthly edition. The full feature highlighting Wuensch’s accomplishments can be read online here, as well as in the magazine’s September, 30, 2013 issue.
Ayaka Nakayama, an IJGA and IJGT alum and freshman golfer for the University of Central Florida, was also featured in Faces in the Crowd in October 2011. To check out her segment, click here.
