Meadow returns from a third-place finish in the 2013 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate after rallying in the final round to shoot the day’s low-round of 67. With Meadow’s impressive come back, Alabama was able to defeat 36-hole leader Vanderbilt University and win the tournament for the second year in a row. After a rough opening round, posting a score of 77, Meadow returned to the final 36 holes to tally zero bogeys and four birdies, two of which came in the final three holes of the tournament.
The weather halted the second round, forcing the players to complete the last of the 36 holes the next day. Because of this, the third round was cancelled and the tournament concluded with just the first and second rounds. Meadow opened with a 4-under-par 67 and closed the tournament shooting 1-under-par 70.
Meadow hopes her 2014 season will prove as fortuitous as 2012 when she was able to earn medalist honors and contribute to Alabama’s tournament title. Meadows and Alabama aspire for a third straight title and another strong presence for Meadow on the course. IJGA students are encouraged to visit the tournament and show their support towards Meadow and her team.
