Current IJGA student, Kelly Whaley of Farmington, Conn., was selected to the American Junior Golf Association’s(AJGA) Rolex Junior All-American team. The prestigious award from the AJGA annually recognizes players who have proven to be the world’s premier junior golfers. Whaley earned Honorable Mention honors putting her in elite company in junior golf.
Whaley had a great 2014 season playing in five AJGA Invitationals and many other top-level junior tournaments around the country. She was victorious at the AJGA Davis Love III Junior Open, and finished in a tie for second place at theAJGA Girls Championship and a tie for fourth place at the Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic.
On the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT), Whaley has won three tournaments in 2014 including the Major Championship at Dormie Club on November 8-9. Her other victories came at Falcon’s Fire in May and at North Carolina State University in September.
Whaley, who is currently ranked No. 34 in the AJGA Polo Rankings, has committed to play collegiate golf for the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
