Defining Excellence: Aryaman Mohan

“Aryaman defines excellence because he’s a very coachable student that listens and grew a lot over the semester by experiencing our full-time program. He started in our summer camp and he couldn’t break 80. His scoring average this semester is 76.” – Scott Shaffer, BGGA Senior Coach

From: Zambia

Grade: 10th

Started at BGGA: In August after a few weeks of summer camp.

Why did you choose BGGA: I came here for summer camp and I wanted to get a feel for how to improve my game. I come from Zambia and golf isn’t very good there. I wanted to come somewhere to learn golf, improve my golf and hopefully make a career out of it. When I came here in the summer I really enjoyed it, so I thought why not come back.

Best part of your game: Mental Game. It’s improved a lot since I’ve been here. When I came here I had a weak mental game. I wasn’t able to recover from a bad shot during a round. Now after working with Paul my mental game is the strongest part of my game.

Why do you play golf: I love meeting new people and playing with new friends. I love that it has brought me to my dream country.

Goals for the future: I’d like to play college golf and maybe turn professional. If that doesn’t work I’ll probably be a lawyer.

Win one tournament: The Masters

Favorite Golfer: Rickie Fowler
