Four IJGA Alumna Competing in U.S. Women’s Open

Best of luck to the four International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) alumna–Yunjie Zhang,  I.K. Kim, Mariajo Uribe and Shanshan Feng— who are competing in the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open! Hosted by the USGA, the tournament is being played at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif., on July 7-10, 2016. Click here for live scoring.

Fun Facts

Just two years ago, Haikou City, China, native Zhang was competing in the 114th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

Nine years ago, Bucaramanga, Colombia native Uribe became the first Colombian to ever win a USGA title when she won the 2007 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

Last year, Guangzhou, China, native Feng became the first player from China to win the Ladies European Tour’s Order of Merit after capping off her season with a victory at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.

Also last year, South Korea native Kim won the LPGA’s Community Assist Award.

Pablo Larrazabal is competing in the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. The European Tour event is being hosted at Castle Stuart Golf Links in Inverness, U.K., on July 7-10, 2016. For live scoring, click here.

Trey Wren (Temple University) and Aaron Terrazas (Oklahoma University), are competing in the Eastern Amateur. The tournament, now in its 60th year, will be played at Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country Club in Portsmouth, Va., on July 7-10, 2016. Wren is coming off an impressive performance in the VSGA Amateur.

Rising IJGA senior Lino Galdin is competing in the Players Amateur. The tournament will be played locally at Berkeley Hall on July 8-11, 2016. Admission is free and open to the public. Hosted by the Heritage Classic Foundation, the Players Amateur is known as one of the premier amateur events in the United States. The winner of the tournament will earn an exemption into the 2017 RBC Heritage, South Carolina’s only PGA Tour event! For more information about the Players Amateur, click here.
