After five top-25 finishes on the Web.com Tour this season, Hao Tong Li sits at 58th on the Money List, but that’s not where Li’s focus is. Wednesday marks exactly one year before the 2016 Olympic Games kick off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and for the first time in a very long time, the world of golf is gearing up for the opening ceremonies. While there is still a lot of golf to play between now and the qualification deadline in July of next year, lots of people are already grinding for one of the 60 spots in the Olympic field.
China native Hao Tong Li is one of the hottest golfers on the Web.com Tour this season. He recently established his U.S. training base at Bishops Gate Golf Academy, and has since seen great success in competition. His biggest highlight from the 2015 season is a second-place finish at the European Tour’s Shenzen International, but to Li, nothing compares with the opportunity to represent his home country in the Olympics.
