IJGA Alum Spotlight: Dan Obremski
Dan Obremski attended IJGA from 2005 until 2006, during which he had a standout year with three wins on the IJGT. His elevated performance while attending the Academy helped to put him on the radar of collegiate coaches and eventually landed him a spot on the golf team at Division 1, Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
During his freshman season for the Chanticleers, Dan demonstrated why he earned his coveted spot with two Top 10 finishes and one Top 5 finish, which came at the Big South Conference Championship. Dan continued his impressive play during his sophomore year with another Top 5 finish at the conference championship, as well as two additional Top 10 finishes. Dan was also voted onto the All Big South team. In his junior year, Dan added two more Top 10 finishes, as well as having the 5th lowest scoring average in the conference. Rounding out his collegiate career, Dan had two more Top 10 finishes as well as winning his first collegiate tournament, The Windon Memorial Classic, capping off an impressive collegiate career that any golfer would be proud of.
Dan’s competitiveness did not end upon graduation, and just this past week he qualified to play in the Greenbrier Classic in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Dan had an impressive performance, posting a four-round total of 281, and cashing his first check as a PGA Tour golfer. We are proud to see our alumni doing so well at the highest levels of the sport, and are excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for Dan.
