Current IJGA student, Ritwik Jain of New Delhi, India, has verbally committed to play golf for the University of CharlestonGolden Eagles. Jain, a 2015 graduate, joined the IJGA in the fall of 2013. He has been training intensely at the IJGA while working equally as hard in the classroom at Heritage Academy. His concerted efforts on the course and in the classroom have led to this achievement in such a short period of time.
Jain will join the Golden Eagles Men’s team at the University of Charleston that is currently ranked No. 3 in the Division II Atlantic Region.
At the IJGA, Jain worked with his golf coaches to formulate specific goals focused on ways to improve his game in effort to make him the most well-rounded and talented player possible. When Jain came to IJGA in August of 2013, he was an unpolished player that was able to get around the course because of his above average short game. Now, Jain has added 45 yards to his driver and improved his accuracy with his irons. Combined with his already polished short game, Jain was able to perform well in tournaments earning the attention of many college coaches.
In addition to regular training, Jain takes advantage of the various resources available to him as an IJGA student in pursuit of his dream to play at the next level. Jain increased his tournament experience by playing in 17 IJGT events, 13 of which he placed in the top ten in addition to numerous other outside tournaments like the Carolinas PGA Junior Championship and U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier.
At the IJGA, we value the commitment, dedication and resiliency demonstrated by juniors like Jain and with each year, we are lucky enough to celebrate as students’ dreams become reality.
Congratulations to Jain and his entire support system as he embarks on his journey into college golf!
