As we start to enter the holiday season, the school is preparing to wrap up the semester by squeezing in every last bit of material they can before the Christmas break and the tournament schedule is gearing up for the holiday rush. The weekend of November 7-8, 2015, was a busy weekend for #TeamBGGA. Many of our juniors and seniors were taking the SAT and visiting colleges across the United States, and many others were finishing up applications for the early admission period. #TeamBGGA also had to the opportunity to play in a couple of tournaments this weekend including the Golfweek International Junior Invitational, played at Walt Disney Resort’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, and the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Orlando Junior, played at Eagle Creek Golf Club.
At Golfweek, BGGA junior Tennoshin Ogawa opened the tournament with a blistering 7-under-par 65. Ogawa burned through his round 1 back-nine with a red-hot putter, starting his birdie run on the 12th hole with a 30-foot birdie bomb. He later holed out from 30 yards on the par-5 14th for eagle. Tennoshin dropped 3 shots on the final 2 holes of the tournament to finish the 36-hole event tied for second at 6-under-par. Joining Ogawa in a tie for second was BGGA junior Carlos Marrero.
